I am a North Carolina native and former high school English teacher. After nine years of teaching in area schools, I was inspired by a family member, who had been in real estate for a number of years, to change professions and open my own real estate company. The experience has been wonderful. I have enjoyed the many people that I have met and the many experiences that come with each real estate transaction. My clients and customers consider my communication skills and my ability to anticipate what could happen as being strengths that leave them feeling well-represented.
And I love KERR LAKE. The construction of Kerr Dam in 1952 brought to our area an asset that continues to be one of the country’s best kept secrets. Kerr Lake’s 50,000 acres of water and 800 miles of shoreline provide the perfect setting for fishing, boating, or just relaxing in the sun. The shoreline ranges from steep cliffs to fabulous sandy beaches that remind one of being at the beach with shade trees. The Corps-of-Engineers-controlled land buffer around the water has proven to be an environmental benefit. Development is pushed back from the immediate water, providing a shoreline of natural, undisturbed beauty, a condition that protects the water quality for both wildlife and people. Not often can you find the peaceful, secluded settings of this beautiful lake and be within thirty minutes of area shopping and resources. You can expand your sports or cultural interests by visiting the Raleigh, North Carolina or Richmond, Virginia areas, which are less than two hours away and offer all the amenities of city life.
This wonderful area can be enjoyed by having your own place at the lake or by visiting one of its dozen day-use parks or camp grounds. Have your own dock or lease a slip in one of the lake’s three marinas.
